Upon completion of the educational offering, the participant will be able to: • Explain the Disease Model of Addiction • Recognize how stereotyping and personal bias can impair effective interventions for the patient with substance use disorder. • Demonstrate utilization of skills and resources to minimize barriers of effective treatment of the substance use disorder patient. • Identify signs/symptoms of compassion fatigue and adopt a personal response plan to avoid impact on self and others.
