PROGRAM OVERVIEW AND OBJECTIVES:
The world renowned faculty of this conference will present an update on vascular/endovascular topics. This program is designed for general surgeons, vascular surgeons, interventional vascular radiologists, cardiologists, neurologists, internists, family practitioners, nurses, and allied health professionals interested in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with vascular disease as well as the management of common vascular disorders. No prerequisites are required. The latest concepts, methodologies, and techniques in the surgical and percutaneous management of patients with vascular disease will be explored through presentations and panel discussions. After completing this course, participants should be able to:
• Review the basics of vascular surgery and the primary care physician and providers
• Discuss current trends in the treatment of cerebrovascular disease
• Examine aortic and peripheral vascular disease and surgery
• Discuss the current status of secondary interventions following EVAR
• Discuss current treatment of venous ulcers and best approach to wound healing
• Discuss avoiding and treating complications after saphenous vein thermal ablation
• Review and discuss adversity and success in vascular surgery
• Examine endovascular and open treatment of acute and chronic mesenteric
ischemia
• Review and debate current carotid guidelines and the use of carotid stenting in the future
• Debate the role of dementia in relation to vascular surgery outcomes
• Examine the SVS practice guidelines and evidence based practice
A panel discussion on challenging cases will end the session on Sunday. Nationally and internationally-known speakers will serve as faculty.
