Description:
This will be the thirty-sixth midwinter cardiovascular conference held at Snowshoe and will be co-provided by CAMC Health Education and Research Institute and Duke University Division of Cardiology. The conference is designed to assist the physician caring for adult patients with complex cardiac problems and traditionally has dealt with the various difficult management problems that occur in patients with cardiovascular disease. In response to evaluation requests, more opportunities for case reports and discussion have been included. An audience response system is utilized with this program and has been received with much enthusiasm by previous course participants. This program is designed for cardiologists, internists, family practitioners, hospitalists, and emergency medicine practitioners, nurse practitioners and physician assistants. The course is limited to 120 participants. Objectives Upon completion of this program, attendees should be able to: ? List management strategies for common cardiac emergencies ? Discuss Percutaneous Valve Repair/Replacement ? Debate complex areas in management of valvular disease ? Review atrial fibrillation and stroke prevention ? Detail management issues in heart failure ? Review and discussion of clinical trials and journal reviews ? Debate controversies in hypertension management
