Description:
This annual seminar features lectures and panel discussions on a variety of neonatal and related issues. The program is designed for neonatologists, pediatricians, obstetricians, maternal fetal medicine specialists, family physicians, nurses and other allied health professionals involved in the care of mothers and neonatal infants. Upon completion of this seminar, participants should be able to: • Review prenatal ultrasound diagnosis of brain anomalies • Discuss the stages of brain development and the effects of toxins and infectious agents • Review congenital infections and their effects on the brain • Discuss the epidemiology of recent arboviruses and emerging pathogens • Identify the current diagnosis and treatment options of neonatal seizures • Review current research and evidenced based medicine conundrums • Discuss Autism Spectrum Disorder and treatment options • Describe fetal alcohol spectrum disorder and present treatment modalities • Discuss the characteristics and impact of ADHD
