Description:
Have you attended ACLS renewal multiple times and are looking for a renewal that involves discussion and realistic cases. ACLS for Experienced Providers goes beyond the core ACLS training and can be taken by anyone that can hold an ACLS Card, including nurses, respiratory therapists and paramedics. This program offers critical thinking opportunities for advanced and experienced healthcare professionals. The goal of ACLS EP is to improve outcomes in complex cardiovascular, respiratory and other emergencies by expanding on core ACLS guidelines and encouraging critical thinking and decision-making strategies. Through cooperative learning and active participation learners enhance their skills in differential diagnosis and treatment cardiac arrest patients. This is a great opportunity for MET members, code team members, ICU Nursing, ER Nursing, intensivists, and physicians to renew their ACLS in a different setting.
At the start of the class we will cover the material for your BLS Renewal and testing. Then we will discuss the newest ACLS updates and administer the AHA ACLS provider test. Therefore, it is important that you come prepared. The tests will be graded, and discussed as needed. If you do not pass the ACLS Provider exam you will be advised to take a standard ACLS Renewal class.
After testing we will proceed with case study discussions and participate in Mega code scenarios in the simulation rooms.
Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation email for the class, which will include the link for the Precourse self-assessment:
https://elearning.heart.org/course/423
Upon visiting this link, you will be directed to the AHA's E-learning website, where you will find the ACLS Pre-course Self-Assessment page.
Once you have completed the self-assessment, it is important to obtain the completion certificate to present in class.
Please note that this pre-course self-assessment must be completed prior to your attendance at the actual course.
Additionally, you will need to acquire the most up-to-date version of the AHA Book, which was last updated in August 2020. This book will serve as the reference material for the test that takes place at the beginning of the course.
