As our healthcare system strives to provide compassionate, patient-centered care to every individual, West Virginia’s communities continue to experience the effects of the opioid epidemic and substance use disorder. WV SUDS is designed by a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, counselors, legal experts, and pharmacists who are deeply engaged with the affected patients and families. Topics at this conference will include MAT Therapy, working with patients with SUD, Emergency Department SUD management, stigmas, and opioid-related infections. WV SUDS features a Keynote address and discussion with author and bioethicist, Travis Rieder, PhD, of the John Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics.
