As our healthcare system strives to provide compassionate, patient-centered
care to every individual, West Virginia’s communities continue to experience the
effects of the opioid epidemic and substance use disorder. WV SUDS is designed
by a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, counselors, legal experts, and
pharmacists who are deeply engaged with the affected patients and families.
Topics at this conference will include MAT Therapy, working with patients with
SUD, Emergency Department SUD management, stigmas, and opioid-related
infections. WV SUDS features a Keynote address and discussion with author and
bioethicist, Travis Rieder, PhD, of the John Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics.
