Join us for our monthly Geriatrics Lunchtime Learning Series designed to promote interdisciplinary teams and quality care for geriatric patients. Target audience for this activity includes physicians in primary care and all specialties, nurses, dietitians, social workers, pharmacists, and all other interested health care professionals. Objectives: At the conclusion of this program, participants should be able to ? Describe the mechanism of action of proton pump inhibitors ? Recall current therapeutic uses of PPIs ? Discuss current safety considerations associated with PPI use ? Appraise newly available literature surrounding the safety of PPIs ? Discuss the results of a retrospective chart review evaluating the frequency of PPI continuation at hospital discharge Disclosure: Information concerning faculty, speaker and planning committee relationships will be available on site and disclosed to the audience from the podium.
