Program Overview and Objectives Speakers will present innovative evidence based strategies such as the development of nurse driven care protocols for care, nurse leadership development, inter-professional team training, successfully employed in health care organizations to expand nursing practice potential, addiction in the workplace and caring for the veteran population as well as managing crisis intervention in the nursing. Participants will have the knowledge and tools to utilize these strategies to impact the care environment and patient outcomes in their organizations. Objectives At the conclusion of this program participants should be able to: 1.) Discuss current issues and advancements in nursing and the associated impact on nursing practice. 2.) Explore the impact of technology on nursing 3.) Discuss health issues involved in caring for the Veteran patient 4.) Discuss addiction in nursing and its impact on nursing practice. 5.) Identify and recognize the indicators of when to implement crisis intervention techniques
