Description:
Have you ever wondered why some people prefer to plan way in advance while others like to keep their options open? Have you ever questioned why some people seem to be very direct in their responses while others are very concerned about creating harmony? Do your colleagues thrive on working together as a team or do some prefer to work individually? Do some people seem to live in the details of today while others like to imagine all of the possibilities of tomorrow? These questions and many other questions around individual "preferences" will be answered in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Workshop. This workshop helps people gain insights about themselves and how they interact with others with an emphasis on how we communicate, work and learn. After taking this workshop, participants can expect to: Identify your own work preferences and how these preferences are similar and different from others on your team, Examine how these similarities and differences facilitate and block productivity, Develop and sharpen interpersonal skills that will heighten personal job effectiveness, Build communication patterns that will meet your needs as well as the needs of others, providing you an opportunity to achieve a higher level of influence, Understand the basic differences between people, allowing you to work together while remaining comfortable with your preferences. PRE-WORK: Prior to attending the workshop, you will be sent a link to the MBTI instrument. This link will take you to a site to complete an assessment pertaining to your preferences. This is not a test. There are no "right" or "wrong" answers. This is a tool that reflects an individual's preferences - not abilities, likelihood of success, intelligence, or skills. This workshop and instrument is based on the work of C.G. Jung's theory of personality types. The MBTI instrument was popularized by Katharine Briggs and Isabell Briggs Myers and has proven to be a very reliable and valid instrument for achieving an understanding of the differences of others.
